4-10-20   Thoughts
It’s morning...   You and I will function normally today most us sheltered at home.
Luke 22:62    And he went out and wept bitterly.    (Peter)
A weeping heart won’t hurt us now as we seek to suffer just a bit with our savior.  Can I do that?  Will I?  It will take some private time.  You will need a concentrated investment here.  As you read...  You need to “be there fully”!
Matt 27:1    Now when morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people conferred together against Jesus to put Him to death;
Isa 53:3-8    He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4   Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5  But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. 6  All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him. 7  He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,  And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth. 8  By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
Isa 53:11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see [it and] be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.             (GOD SAW ALL THIS... and   “WAS SATISFIED”!)
We need to read from the following passage areas.  Try your best to be “AN EYE WITNESS”!
Matt 21:1ff   (ff = “and following”)
Mark 15:1ff
Luke 23:1ff         Matt 26:36ff    (don’t miss the praying)
John 18:28ff
John 18:28  Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium, and it was early; and they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium so that they would not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.      (What a pitiful comment, especially in this context)
Matt 27:26  Then he released Barabbas for them; but after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified.
John 19:30   Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
Heb 12:1-3  Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3  For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
My Prayer:
Father, I pray that each of us can come to the foot of the cross in these next few days.  Soften our hearts and divert our minds from this world, that we may see Jesus!  Help us to bring Your Great Love into the depths of our hearts.    In Jesus we pray             Amen
